Why Busty’s getting her head down

BustyThey say “never say never”, and so after last week’s refusal to do the “JLS Ice Bucket Challenge” or whatever it’s called, this week I found myself with nipples like raspberries as I was forced to douse my 38DDs with the coldest water this side of the Antarctic.
Ouch. There was one upside – luckily my impressive bosom protected the rest of my body from the freeze.
Mind you, it was comforting to see I was not alone and it was almost worth it to see Chris Whitson and Ben Stephens (remember them?) going through the same agony.
Then again, there has been bugger all else going on in the marketing world this week as Campaign’s headline: “London’s top creatives share their summer reads” testified. “As summer ends, Campaign asked some of the industry leading creatives what books fed their imagination over the holidays.” Desperate or what?
It did get me wondering, though, what the top summer reads of some of the direct marketing industry’s finest might have been, although whether it would warrant a massive news story is debatable. Anyway here goes…
Nicky Clarke’s “Hair Power” for Steve Aldridge and Lisa Thomas? (Is it just me or are the former lovers morphing into each other?) And how about Linda Nazarko’s “Nursing in Care Homes” for Chris Martin (well, WPN Chameleon is virtually the WWAV retirement agency). Or maybe Rebecca Fuller Ward’s “How to Stay Married Without Going Crazy” for industry lothario Drayton Bird?
But by far the most popular read could be Jerry Hirschfield’s “My ego, My power and I”. Surely that’s a must read for everyone from Tim Hipperson to Marc Nohr and Danny Rogers to Mark Roy?
As for little ol’ Busty, well I’ve been reading Mary Berry’s “Baking Bible” as I reckon I could wipe the floor with the rest of them on this year’s Great British Bake Off. I have always been partial to Gentlemen’s Relish and a dab hand at Spotted Dick. And I’m sure you will believe me when I say my Jussipussi is to die for…
