Lida unveils first Alzheimer’s work

Lida unveils first Alzheimer's workLeading dementia charity Alzheimer’s Society has launched its first campaign since appointing Lida to handle the organisation’s marketing account, aimed at increasing the acquisition of new supporters.
The “Staying Connected” campaign promotes a free practical kit to help the carers, families and friends of people living with dementia, and stop their loved ones from drifting away. Launching later this week through outdoor and digital channels, including Facebook, it emphasises how disconnected sufferers and loved ones can become.
The kit contains practical advice and services that can help sufferers and carers stay connected for longer, including information about dementia and Alzheimer’s Society, tips for supporting someone with the disease, a guide to the support services available, as well as a weekly scheduling kit.
By 2015, there will be 850,000 people the UK with a form of dementia. Alzheimer’s Society is dedicated to leading the fight against the condition and improving the quality of life of people affected.
Alzheimer’s Society director of fundraising Jon Bodenham said: “We’re really pleased to be reaching out to more people touched by dementia than ever before, offering information and advice as well as ways to get involved. Many people with dementia and their carers don’t know where to turn for support and the more we can help people connect, the better they’ll be able to cope.”
Lida executive creative director Nicky Bullard added: “Dementia can be a condition that disconnects you from your partner, your family, society and yourself. We have created the Staying Connected kit to help those people affected by dementia stay connected for as long as possible, promoting the excellent advice and services offered by the Society.”
The initiative is the first in a series of campaigns by Lida, which was appointed to the account in April. The work will aim to increase the acquisition of new donors and build the Alzheimer’s Society’s supporter base by encouraging participation in events.
