IPG-owned data and insight giant Acxiom has drafted in a new regional leader for EMEA, handing the role to group insider Alex Pym to spearhead the next stage of business growth as chief commercial officer.
He joins from fellow IPG agency Huge, where he has previously operated with a similar remit as president, EMEA, as well as most recently serving as global chief growth officer.
Prior to his seven years at Huge, Pym led strategic growth at Sapient in the UK, as well as managing client services and business development at agency “marriage broker” Creativebrief.
Having worked with some of the world’s biggest brands in creating industry leading customer experiences, including Google, Lego, McDonald’s and LVMH, as well as fast-growing European brands such as On Running and Nothing, it is claimed Pym well-versed in both the complexity and opportunities that exist at the intersection of consumers, brands and technology.
He is also said to be a progressive business leader, offering expertise across strategy, digital transformation, client partnership and business development, with a sterling track record in delivering commercial success. Pym effectively succeeds Mike Menzer, who will remain responsible for Acxiom International.
Pym said: “An intrinsic understanding of customers is the fundamental pillar to outstanding CX and can prove to be the number one differentiator for brands. I’m delighted to have the opportunity to join Acxiom, a business at the forefront of unlocking and leveraging intelligence that informs great experience for customers and growth for brands.”
Menzer added: “We’re very pleased to have Alex join us to lead the Acxiom EMEA business. His experience as a strong commercial leader will drive the next stage of customer and business success in the region.”
