McDowall signs Saracens deal

McDowallMcDowall Media, one of the UK’s leading independent lead generation companies, has signed a major sponsorship deal with Aviva Premiership Champions Saracens to back its scheme with promotes the sport in schools and gets kids “ready for rugby”.
The firm, which recently beefed up its senior management team with three new board directors, is to sponsor the Saracens Sports Foundation, which works with primary schools to deliver tag rugby training and inter-school competitions.
As part of the Tag Rugby scheme, every primary school teacher in the Saracens community is being given the opportunity to attend a Saracens “ready for rugby” training session.
McDowall marketing director Andrew Colwell (pictured with Saracens Sports Foundation head coach Lewis Sones and McDowall chief executive Graham Bate) claims the partnership is a perfect opportunity to support the local community in addition to aligning the McDowall brand.
He said: “The Saracens Foundation is undoubtedly the best of its type in the country. It’s no surprise to me that they are multi-award winning. There is such a warm and friendly feel to it and there is a genuine desire from everybody to help change peoples’ lives through sport.
“For us, partnering with such a strong sporting brand is a unique and fresh alternative to standard marketing channels. For McDowall, the Tag Rugby Programme is the start of a long-term partnership with Saracens and the first of a number of initiatives to come.”
The official launch kicked off late last week with the first in a series of 16 festivals with more than 300 children from primary schools around North London competing at Saracens home, Allianz Park.
Graham Bate said: “The Saracens Sport Foundation carries out some incredibly valuable work throughout the community. At McDowall we are delighted to support them with this, and more specifically to be an official community partner of the Tag Rugby programme – kids need to be active and have a love for sport – if the Tag Rugby programme can help provide this, then it’s a job well done. We are proud to be a part of it.”
Saracens Sports Foundation manager Sam Fulling added: “We are delighted to be partnering with McDowall on the Saracens Tag Programme. It is one of our flagship participation programmes, and we are thrilled to be supported by a local, community driven organisation which shares the same values that we do.”
