Carnival has appointed Lida to handle the direct marketing account for its two UK brands – P&O Cruises and Cunard – following a competitive pitch that began in April this year.
Lida has been briefed to transform the cruise companies’ customer marketing, moving from a product-led approach to a more personalised strategy. The agency, which has already started work on the business, has taken over from MRM Meteorite.
Jeremy Tait, insight director for both P&O Cruises and Cunard, said that personalisation is now key to the company’s marketing activity, adding: “It is crucial to put our guests at the forefront of all that we do, from the moment of consideration to the time they return home and think about their next holiday.
“We are confident Lida will deliver results that will help our brands connect with our guests for a more individual, tailored approach and nurture existing relationships.”
Lida chairman and chief strategy officer Matthew Heath added: “We look forward to delivering truly engaging campaigns that will personalise the customer-experience and help the Carnival brand transform and continue to grow.”
