Volkswagen has handed the retail marketing account for its commercial vehicles division to agency Big Dog following a competitive pitch.
The agency, which has offices in Norwich, London, Leicester and Belfast, will spearhead tactical communications and local dealership marketing as well as deliver support for the brand’s network of over 70 UK van centres.
It is not known how the appointment will affect the brand’s relationship with Proximity London, which also handles activity for the commercial vehicles division as well as the main VW brand, Škoda and Seat.
Laura Bignall, national communications, retail and digital marketing manager for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, said: “Big Dog demonstrated a strong understanding of the van centre retail and business to business worlds throughout the pitch process, as well as very high standards of creative delivery – we are very much looking forward to working with them.”
Big Dog chief executive Mike Smith added: “Working with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is extremely exciting. A great brand, with amazing heritage and clear ambition for the future. It is great to be working alongside them in reaching these goals.”
