Wand – the agency set up by Ian Winton, Vidhu Kapur and creative duo Brian Storey and Xanthos Christodoulou in 2005 – has secured a deal with print firm Inc Direct, which has acquired a major shareholding in the business.
The move follows the departure of Winton, who quit late last year to become managing director of Golley Slater’s London office, and Kapur, who now heads up creative services at Ogilvy.
Storey (pictured left) and Christodoulou (middle) have been seeking new partners ever since.
The agency, whose clients include Schroders, Barings, Bensons for Beds and Peugeot, has worked with Inc for a number of years.
With Inc’s background in print and software, the deal will see the combined operation being able to offer strategy, creative, broadcast, online, social media, mobile, data handling, direct marketing and campaign analysis.
As part of the deal, Inc Direct managing director Noel Warner (pictured, far right) becomes a managing partner in the agency.
Storey said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Inc Direct with our work in the future. Our combined expertise and skill-sets will enable us to deliver creative concepts to the right media and tap into Inc Direct’s cross media expertise at the back-end. We are not an agency in the traditional sense but a ‘media neutral creative hot shop’. We’re all about adding value for our clients and thinking about solutions for their business to drive their sales using all or any combination of media.
“This alliance will allow us to integrate every stage of a campaign, from concept to design and execution. In many ways this partnership is a game changer for marketing and brand owners as they will be able to rethink the whole way they buy and place strategic campaigns.”
