Acxiom marketing chief King exits

Acxiom head of European marketing Joanne King is understood to have left the company without a job to go. Her departure follows the exit of European chief executive Stephen Whyte, who departed earlier this month.
King joined Acxiom three months before Whyte, from American Express, where she been for 8 years.
During her time at the data insight company, King led the European marketing team of 10, located across 6 countries, and was in charge of delivering a shift in brand positioning from customer data management to multi-channel marketing services solutions. She reported to Acxiom’s chief marketing officer based at the company’s head office in the US.
Over the past 6 months, the company has won business from Heathrow Airport, entertainment group Merlin and Sony Ericsson.
At Amex, King held a variety of roles, including director of customer experience and communications as well as marketing director of global merchant services.
Before that she worked as an interim marketing chief for Amex, Centrica (on AA Insurance and British Gas brands) and BTCellnet (now O2). She has also worked in the marketing departments of Securicor Cellular Services and NatWest card division.
Founded in 1969, Acxiom’s headquarters are in Little Rock, Arkansas, and it has offices in Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and South America.
