Robins to lead IPA digital group

Agenda21 managing director Pete Robins has been appointed as the new chairman of the IPA Digital Media Group, taking over from Matt Simpson, head of digital at Omnicom Media Group, EMEA.
In 1999 Robins launched his own media agency: media21, also co-founding digital creative agency Glue.
Following the sale of media21 to Grey Global Group, he then co-ran Mediacom’s digital division for four years, sitting on the board, before setting up Agenda21 in 2005, and Media Science in 2011.
The IPA Digital Media Group serves to raise the digital standard, share knowledge among members of the IPA about digital issues, and represent the agency perspective in the digital media arena.
The group will continue to seek the raising of standards in media owner service levels with its biannual survey and the newly launched Media Owner Awards (MOAs). Its new priority will be to ensure the data-driven real time bidding market develops in a manner that maximises the benefit to clients and minimises risk.
Robins said: “Digital media is clearly a major part of many agencies and we have got much to deal with in order to continue to show our worth to our clients. It’s a fascinating time to be working out how technology, data and media combine to deliver value for advertisers. The Digital Media Group has probably never been more relevant and I’m happy to be part of that.”
