Thorpe takes top role at Indicia

Indicia, the Bristol-based agency, has hired former G2 and Acxiom chief Alan Thorpe as business development director with a brief to raise the profile of the agency’s data driven customer intelligence solutions
He will specifically focus on driving development across the financial services, travel, publishing and IT sectors.
Thorpe has specialised in financial services since starting his career client-side at Barclays in 1986, before joining Commercial Union in the early Nineties.
By 1998, he had crossed over to the supplier side to become business intelligence manager at Kognitio, working on the Norwich Union account.
Thorpe joined G2 in 2003, eventually becoming director of business solutions, and then moved over to Acxiom in March 2010 as director of financial services, Europe.
He said: “I am looking forward to helping this business, working with the team to position Indicia as the number one choice for brands looking to deliver highly successful and award winning marketing campaigns.”
Indicia managing director Ian Stockley commented: “Alan’s wealth of experience, acute business acumen, extensive marketing industry knowledge and deep understanding of key vertical markets will be a great asset to the team.”
