All set for the Great DM Dream Team Summer Getaway?

“They’re coming home, they’re coming home, England are coming home…” Yep, Tommy Tickle’s boys had a good run but all things have to come to an end sometime and the dream is over for at least a couple of years until the Euros.

Perhaps it was my fault; after all, I didn’t get a chance to devise my tactical masterclass for the Argy Bargies.

Believe Fifa (why would you?) and there is still all to play for, well, “bronze”. Luckily I have other fish to fry as the team’s exit has meant I have finally been able to make plans for the “Great DM Dream Team Summer Getaway”.

Now, you may recall that for the past few years, it has just been us girls on tour. However, we have hatched a cunning plan to invite some of the fellas along (to be fair, we need their money more than their company).

So, as well as Roxy, Peggy and Meggy from Skeggy and yours truly, we’ve told them they are welcome, too, including:

–  Old man McKelvey (well, someone’s got to invite him to SOMETHING).

–  The now svelte Ian “I’m skinnier than George Clooney these days” McCawley (well, someone’s got to give him a break from his “blended” family).

– The gorgeous, witty, brainy and übersexy proprietor of Spoon Creative Ltd, Mr Jonathan Spooner Esq (well, someone’s got to try to cheer him up).

– And, finally, our new web ops expert, who can’t be named for legal reasons as he is still at school (well, someone’s got to get him away from his bossy mum).

Anyway, having got them all to cough up a “grand a man” we now have the money to charter a private jet from Brighton City Airport (which just so happens to be a stone’s throw away from here).

Roxy, Peggy and Meggy from Skeggy and yours truly are thinking that our first stop should be Nice Côte d’Azur Airport and then on to Cannes, which is thankfully now free from the worst excesses of adland.

Naturally, having got their money, we’ve told the boys the flight is next week, when it is in fact this Sunday (gotta love a list minute deal).

Fingers crossed then that they don’t read this column, because with a bit of luck “they’re staying home, they’re staying home, you men are staying home…”
