Brands offered ‘talking direct mail’

Brand owners are being offered the chance to target consumers with “talking direct mail”, with the launch of a new business from web-to-print software specialist Print Fair and Really Wild Cards.
Talking Print, which has been co-founded by Print Fair’s David Hyams and Really Wild Cards founder John Wignall, is offering clients campaign production from graphic design to print and mailing.
Royal Mail already offers a raft of what it calls “4D” mailings, such as mailings printed on chocolate bars as well as DVDs.
Talking Print, which is targeting businesses requiring invitations, brochures and direct mail, said it can also supply just the sound modules for printed collateral if required.
According to Hyams, the company can also draw on its bases London, New York and Shanghai, which enable fast turnaround times coupled with a local customer service offering.
He said: “We have thought about every element of the service we provide and have developed an operational model that enables production of small quantities or samples within a few days.
“This helps clients gain familiarity with the medium, develop their concepts and demonstrate their ideas to their own customers.”
The company has already been trialling the offering with companies including The Trainline and Liberty’s, which Hyams claims produced “excellent” results.
Wignall added: “The experience that we have gained within our audio cards business has been vital to the development of the Talking Print model.
“Our absolute priority is to deliver a very high quality recording using the spoken word, music or other sounds that will integrate perfectly with other elements of a client’s marketing campaign.”
