Communisis is reaping the benefits of its expansion into the wider marketing services arena after reporting a first half increase in operating profit of 22%, reaching £4.4m.
The group, which recently expanded with acquisitions of companies offering online communication, social media and specialist content management, also saw its operating margin on sales increase to 5%.
In the six months to 30 June, the business upped sales to £112.6m from £97.8m, including a “significant” increase in international turnover, while operating profit before exceptional items increased by 22% to £4.4m
However, post-tax profits fell to £2.1m, in comparison with last year’s figure of £2.5m, due to the cost of the acquisitions.
Communisis chief executive Andy Blundell (pictured) said: “The first half of 2012 has seen Communisis deliver a further set of strong results and we remain on track for a full year performance that meets our expectations. The results reflect our continued focus on a growth strategy that helps clients communicate more effectively with their customers in fast-changing markets.”
