The agency will also be responsible for cultivating ongoing engagement via integrated activity, including digital and social media for the site, which features many of J K Rowling’s notes and several pages of text that were not included in the original novels.
The site also sells e-book and audiobook versions of the seven Harry Potter novels, as well as over 18,000 words of additional content, including a large number of background details and settings.
TH_NK!, which originally developed the site, continues as Pottermore’s digital development agency, leading the development of Pottermore.com.
Pottermore chief executive Charlie Redmayne said: “Adam & Eve contributed a huge amount to this project and I am very grateful to them. Moving forward, Momentum will bring a wealth of experience in integrating social and digital into broader media and also the ability to service our international requirements. I am delighted to be working with them.”
Momentum managing director Simon Parker said: “Harry Potter is one of the great cultural touchpoints and we are thrilled Pottermore has asked us to help encourage a new generation to discover this world and to give fans more of what they love. Who wouldn’t be excited about that?”
