IPA’s Hull leads Queen’s Honours

JANETHULL360The IPA’s director of marketing Janet Hull, IAB chairman Richard Eyre and Aviva marketing boss Amanda Mackenzie have been awarded top gongs in the Queen’s 2014 New Year Honours for services to the creative industries.
Hull (pictured), who bags an OBE, has been honoured for her contribution to programmes and partnerships which position the UK as a creative and digital innovation hub to the world.
She devised and runs the IPA/Metro Creative Pioneers Challenge to provide apprenticeship opportunities for young people in the digital creative economy; and also works with the National Apprenticeship Service, Creative Skillset, UKTI and Tech City to create the right infrastructure for sustainable long term success.
Hull is also IPA project director on the redevelopment of the UK Creative Industries web portal, in partnership with cross-sector trade associations and representative bodies, to enhance opportunities for UK export and inward investment.
IPA director general Paul Bainsfair said: “This award is the ultimate acknowledgement of Janet’s indefatigable work for the creative industries. She is a passionate advocate of this sector and an asset to it and we are incredibly proud of her.”
Meanwhile Aviva’s chief marketing officer Amanda Mackenzie has also been awarded an OBE for services to the marketing industry.
She has been chief marketing and communications officer and executive board member at Aviva since 2008, and is president of The Marketing Society.
IAB chairman Richard Eyre, the former boss of ITV, has been awarded the CBE, for services to advertising and media.
