Clinton Cards, which this week hired its first marketing director, has appointed Lloyd James to handle the company’s point-of-sale inserts programme.
The UK’s largest retailer of greeting cards is offering advertisers the chance to distribute up to 5 million solus inserts or samples every month. The inserts will be enclosed in bags with products in 660 Clinton Cards outlets throughout the country.
Lloyd James Group client services director Darrel Linehan said: “Advertisers are constantly seeking new routes to market and this is an excellent vehicle for marketing special offers to Clinton’s customers. This programme fits perfectly within our portfolio”.
Earlier this week, the retailer appointed former head of marketing for Dixons Retail Tim Fairs as its first marketing director. He will be responsible for developing a brand personality for the greeting card retailer and will also drive online sales and oversee customer insight and promotional strategies.
Prior to Dixons, Fairs was head of marketing at Virgin Retail, where he relaunched the Virgin brand and introduced the company’s first loyalty scheme.
