Insurance brand More Th>n has raided Capital One to find a successor for former marketing director Pete Markey, who took on the group role at parent RSA earlier this year.
Dominic Grounsell has been marketing director at Capital One since March 2008, overseeing a shift in focus from traditional direct marketing to digital activity initiated by his former boss vice president, head of customer initiative management and brand marketing Justin Basini.
Basini left Capital One is February 2010 to launch consumer data preference service Allow.
Grounsell will join in February and report to Markey. He will be responsible for advertising, brand development, customer and digital marketing.
Earlier this year, Stephens Francis Whitson picked up the advertising account for More Th>n, adding the business to the insurance company’s DM account which it has handled since the agency launched in January 2005. The ad account was previously handled by Fallon.
All More Th>n marketing currently features the Morgan Freeman-inspired More Th>n Freeman character (pictured).
Markey was promoted to chief marketing officer following the departure of group strategy, marketing and customer director Clare Sheikh in May, who is now at Vodafone.
