
Robertson is among the most experienced names in the industry and a regular on awards juries. He started his client-side career at catalogue giant Empire Stores in 1992, then had spells at Ionica before joining the direct marketing team at BT, under then head of DM Nigel Grimes.
He took up the role of head of below the line communications at Thomas Cook in 1990, eventually becoming CRM manager at First Choice Holidays. Robertson then spent five years as head of marketing for Disney Destinations International, where he was responsible for all consumer and trade marketing, including brand and response TV, online, publicity, radio, press, promotions, outdoor and DM.
Since June 2008 he had been working at the COI, until its closure at the end of March.
On LinkedIn, Grimes – now a senior consultant at Teradata – said: “Adrian is a first class direct marketer who strives for great work and great results.
