The move follows a pilot programme run in the US, which included more than 1,400 businesses. Some 74% of firms said they use the AdWords Business Credit card as their primary form of AdWords payment.
The company is to target small and medium-size businesses to give them more flexibility and extra credit, said Google vice-president and treasurer Brent Callinicos.
The company started inviting businesses in the UK to join the programme this weekend, and will also extend more invitations to the programme this month in the US.
The AdWords Business Credit card can only be used for AdWords advertising purchases, however.
On its UK site Google said that not all businesses would be able to apply. “Eligible customers will receive an invitation with a personalised application ID,” the company said.
Firms will receive information of their credit limit in a package welcoming them to the programme. In the UK the minimum credit limit is £500 with the maximum credit limit varying.
