However, yesterday I decided to search online for a few tips to shed those last few pounds when I happened upon some, er, fascinating research by the health and well-being firm Forza Supplements, which monitored the body clocks of 1,000 people who lead healthy and active lives.
They were asked to log the optimum times when they got the maximum benefits out of a range of daily activities after researchers pinpointed the key times of the day which suited each activity best – and it makes for rather depressing reading…
So, apparently the Perfect Day goes something like this:
6:45am Get up
7:15am Eat breakfast
7:30am Have sex
9:45am Do your most taxing tasks of the working day
12:15pm Eat lunch
3.30pm Chow down another snack
6:00pm Eat dinner
6:10pm Down a few drinks
8:15pm Scoff another snack
10.10pm Go to bed
Forza Supplements managing director Lee Smith said: “What we set out to do was to find out the absolute optimum times to work, rest and play. While no two people are the same, these were found to be the very best times for the average person to do the key activities which make for a healthy and happy life.
“Making small adjustments to your routine can really help you to lose weight, get fitter, be more effective at work and even a better lover.”
Well, I have to admit if that is the best way to live your life, I’d rather take a trip to Dignitas in Switzerland. It makes the Decision Marketing busman’s holiday to the South of France sound like the trip of a lifetime.
Then again, all that advice was a little too late for me anyway, having spent the whole day getting into the French way of life by celebrating National Lazy Day. Ah well, demain, peut-être demain…
