Billingtons rebrands as HeyHuman

Billingtons rebrands as HeyHumanBillington Cartmell has been relaunched and rebranded HeyHuman as part of non-executive chairman Rupert Howell’s strategy to move it away from its sales promotion roots.
Howell says the move – which does not affect group agencies Closer and Brave – follows “12 months of modernising and digitising the agency” to base it around the simple belief that “successful brands are human brands”.
Howell and Matthew Hooper were appointed after founders Ian Billington and Paul Cartmell left the agency in October 2012, following its sale to the private equity company Hutton Collins Partners. Late last year, former Marketing Store and Publicis chief Simon Marshall was appointed group chief executive.
The agency’s clients include GlaxoSmithKline, Unilever, Morrisons and Sony Mobile and Superdrug.
Howell said: “We have been working hard to create an agency for the future.” HeyHuman has 25 creatives, ten of which are in senior roles. It is planning to hire a further two senior and two mid-weight creatives. Executive creative director Bo Hellberg, who joined in October 2013, is overseeing the process.
