Boots is targeting Advantage Card-holders with the launch of a new ‘trolley dash’ web app to support its Treat Street scheme.
Established in 2010, Boots Treat Street enables Boots loyalty card customers to collect points with every purchase they make online through the website.
Shoppers downloading the Treat Street Trolley Dash app game can take a ‘virtual’ walk down a shopping street, passing retailers such as eBay, New Look and Play.com as they collect prizes and avoid hazards. Gamers then try to achieve the highest score before the time runs out.
Dave Robinson, head of partnership marketing at Boots UK, commented: “We’re delighted to launch Boots first web app and provide Advantage Card holders with a fun way to find out more about the Boots Treat Street shopping portal. We know our customers enjoy shopping and we’re sure they’ll enjoying playing with our app too.”
The company only launched its mobile commerce site in September and during its first month of operation received nearly 300,000 unique monthly visitors.
The m-commerce site, built by mobile technology provider Usablenet, offers most of the features and functions of its e-commerce counterpart. Shoppers can search the site and narrow search results by product, brand or service. They can read customer ratings and reviews and locate the nearest Boots UK store.
Customers also can log in to their Boots UK account, created on the e-commerce site. This enables them to check the status of orders, check the points balance on their loyalty cards, and speed through checkout by using stored shipping and billing information.
