GB Group is launching a system that it claims is “the next generation of ID verification”, offering brand owners the ability to verify more than 3 billion consumers across the world – within seconds.
Dubbed ID3global, the web-based interface enables rapid decision-making. It also offers enhanced matching via the Global Identity Verification Engine (GIDE), and guarantees more country coverage and feature enhancements.
The move coincides with the company moving into the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checking market, through the acquisition of TMG CRB, based in Nottingham.
Its CRB checking system – tmg.tv – currently processes over 170,000 checks a year and is used predominantly by organisations who recruit individuals working with children and vulnerable adults. It is also used for pre-employment checks, a significant growth area.
The acquisition enables GB Group to access the growing market for online CRB disclosure checks which is consistent with its core proposition of enabling organisations to connect, communicate and transact with individuals safely, responsibly and profitably.
The deal also broadens the service offering GB Group can offer its existing CRB client base, which currently stands at over 80 clients, for whom it provides an external ID verification solution.
GB Group chief executive Richard Law said: “The CRB checking sector is currently going through the same transformation that we saw in the ID verification sector, with online processes replacing out-dated and paper-based systems.
“TMG CRB has built a strong foothold in this area and we consider that it will be an excellent fit with our other group offerings.”
