Gocompare signs Stuart Pearce

Gocompare.com is launching a new execution of its ‘Saving The Nation’ TV campaign – in which celebrities attempt to silence the manic opera singer Gio Compario – this time featuring former England footballer Stuart Pearce.
The ad, by Dare, launches this week and follows an execution featuring Sue Barker. It sees Compario trying to sing “Gocompare” at a couple buying a car, when he is overheard by ‘Psycho’ Pearce who is training in a near-by park.
Pearce then grabs a football and kicks it towards Compario, smashing him in the stomach and knocking him over – silencing him in the process.
The ad will be supported with a national media campaign across TV, radio, digital and social media.
Gocompare.com chief finance and marketing officer Kevin Hughes commented: “We know a lot of people love to hate our moustachioed friend and we are responding to that, with the overall message that Gocompare.com is dedicated to ‘Saving The Nation’ both time and money when choosing financial products.”
Dare managing director Toby Horry said: “Saving the nation money is what Gocompare.com is all about – the campaign uses ‘heart of the nation’ characters to help save the public from Gio’s singing.”
