Price comparison site Gocompare is calling on the services of wilderness and survival expert Ray Mears to silence the brand’s irritating opera singer – Gio Compario – in the ongoing Saving The Nation campaign, following in the footsteps of Stuart Pearce and Sue Barker.
The ad by Dare launches today (Monday) and sees manic tenor Compario relentlessly singing the “Gocompare” song at a group of increasingly miffed men.
Mears then comes to their rescue by capturing Compario in a net and suspending from a tree – wild animal style. The ad will be supported by radio, digital and social media.
Gocompare.com chief finance and marketing officer Kevin Hughes commented: “Gocompare.com is dedicated to ‘Saving The Nation’ both time and money when choosing financial products, which this latest ad reflects.
The Saving The Nation campaign launched in July with an execution featuring Sue Barker as a masked assassin firing a rocket launcher at Gio; this was followed by former England star Pearce who blasted a football at him. More celebrity appearances are in the pipeline.
Hughes added: “The campaign has received a lot of attention and we hope to maintain the buzz around Gocompare.com with the upcoming celebrity appearances lined up for the rest of 2012.”
