Tim Hipperson is to cut his ties with WPP – for the second time in three years – after resigning from his post as group chief executive of G2 Joshua.
Hipperson, who joined direct and digital agency two years ago and oversaw a rebranding, will leave in April, although it is understood he has already lined up a new job.
There has even been speculation that he might be linking up with former McCann boss Ben Langdon, who runs a user experience, analytics and usability consultancy based in London and Shanghai, called Foviance.
Hipperson was previously chief executive of WPP-owned RMG Connect, but left the agency after a restructure in 2009 that saw it fold into sister business JWT London.
He then launched his own consultancy, Morph, which offered mergers and acquisitions advice.
Hipperson started his career at the Database Group in 1990, before switching agency side in 1995 to become data planning director at Tequila. In 2000, he joined IPG-owned McCann Relationship Marketing where he worked alongside Amanda Phillips, as well as McCann boss Langdon.
He remained within IPG for his next job, as global digital director at DraftFCB. He left there in 2007 to join RMG, taking over from Jonathan Harman.
G2 Joshua has yet to name a replacement.
