IPC Media, the company behind such magazine brands as Horse & Hound, Nuts and the NME, is holding talks with direct agencies about its subscription marketing account.
It is understood that the publishing giant has worked with several agencies in the past but there is no incumbent on the business, which will include customer acquisition and retention.
The winning agency will work with the company’s subscriptions department, which deals with more than 60 brands on multiple platforms, across print, online, mobile, tablets and events.
IPC claims to “engage” with 26 million UK adults – almost two thirds of UK women and over 40% of UK men, and its portfolio of websites reaches over 25 million global users every month.
It has three publishing divisions; IPC Connect, the mass-market women’s division which includes TV mags; IPC Inspire, the men’s portfolio; and IPC Southbank, the upmarket women’s division, which comprises luxury fashion and lifestyle brands.
No-one was available for comment at the company about the agency hunt.
