LateRooms hands Amaze app task

Online discount hotels specialist LateRooms.com has appointed marketing and technology company Amaze to create a Facebook application that “socialises” its hotel booking process.
The appointment, made following a competitive three-way pitch, will see the app tie into LateRooms.com’s new ad campaign.
It will allow users to create a ‘Book It’ list of destinations and activities they would like to experience, such as a weekend away at the Grand National or stag do in Rome.
The app, which will be available at facebook.com/laterooms, will allow friends to share trip ideas, and then let them build their own travel plans using the app.
t is design to inspire users to generate destination ideas, and encourage interaction between fellow users and the brand on Facebook.
LateRooms.com social media manager Rich Kemp commented: “The team at Amaze really impressed us with its creativity and innovative thinking during the pitch process. Linking the app to our website and appropriate hotel offers will increase conversations among Facebook users and drive traffic to the LateRooms.com booking engine.”
Amaze chief executive Natalie Gross said: “It is always exciting to be appointed by a young and dynamic company that isn’t afraid of trying new ideas. Using our insight into the way people interact with social media, we were able to map out a bank of ideas that met LateRooms.com’s brief, both creatively and in terms of the business requirement.”
