Mediabrands top job for Northway

IPG Mediabrands Analytics, the media innovation unit of Interpublic Group that controls a $34bn global media buying portfolio, has appointed data specialist James Northway managing director of its Analytics operation for the EMEA
region.
Northway joins from Aegis’ insight and data division Aevolve, where he has been joint MD since January 2008.
Aevolve provides solutions for Aegis’ five 5 UK brands, Carat, Vizeum, iProspect, Isobar and Posterscope, and their clients including British Gas, Johnson & Johnson, Disney, Shop Direct Group, Ebay, Vauxhall, Kellogg’s, Santander and Sony Music.
Northway started his career at PPP Healthcare as an analyst in 1996, before moving to DunnHumby in 1998. By June 2000 he was head of data planning at Carat, where he stayed for seven years before joining Aegis.
Created by IPG in 2007 to manage all of its global media-related assets – including Initiative, UM and MagnaGlabal – Mediabrands employs over 6,500 media specialists in 90 countries.
According to the company blurb, it “helps clients maximize the impact of their marketing investment to deliver explosive business results, and enhances the communications offering and performance across its network of media agencies”.
