O2 lures Microsoft Advertising man

O2 Media has strengthened its management team by hiring Microsoft Advertising creative media strategist Andreas Nicolaou as head of client strategy.
The company recently revealed that its O2 More loyalty scheme base had tripled to 6 million customers in the past six months alone; with 10 million sign-ups expected by next year.
Nicolaou (pictured) will manage O2 Media’s client sales team and be responsible for developing mobile marketing solutions. He will work directly with client marketing directors in industry sections such as retail, packaged goods and entertainment.
He worked at Microsoft Advertising for three years, prior to which he spent over eight years at a number of other media agencies, including MindShare, Initiative and Manning Gottlieb OMD.
O2 Media has also appointed Alexandra Davies as agency sales manager. She joins from Channel 4′s future and digital media advertising team.
O2 Media commercial director Gary Cole said: “O2 Media has made incredible progress in the last year and we continue our search to hire the best and brightest talent the media industry has to offer. Our plans, roadmap and ambitions mean that we have an ongoing need for great people and this is largely being driven by client needs and education.”
