WDMP hires duo for Sharpen role

WDMP has finally appointed a creative duo to replace executive creative director Gary Sharpen, who left earlier this year.
Tom Harman (pictured, left) and George Bell (right) join from TMW and take on the role of ‘creative lead’.
The duo worked together at Tequila in 2004, then went to TMW in January 2006, where they became one of the agency’s senior teams, working on the likes of Pimm’s, Lynx and First. Their work includes a number of award-winning campaigns, including Lynx’s “wake up and stay alert” activity.
They will report to the ‘other Wheeler brother’ at WDMP, co-founder and managing director Craig – who set up Wheeler Direct Marketing Partnership with Gavin in October 2002.
Chief executive Gavin said: “Tom and George bring with them a wealth of experience dealing with leading brands. Their fresh ideas, flair and creativity will be a welcome addition. We look forward to seeing them make their mark and helping to take the business to the next level.”
Last week, WDMP joined the Tesco roster by scooping the CRM account for Tesco Bank.
Sharpen left in March after three years to take on what he called “new challenges”. He had joined WDMP in January 2008 as its first executive creative director with a brief to raise the agency’s creative profile.
