Busty has more than a ball at Heineken Experience

busty idolIch bin ein Amsterdammer – yep you guessed it, I’ve been there, done that and got the wet T-shirt, although I have to admit, I still haven’t quite made it back to Blighty yet…
As you may recall from last week’s column, when Mint Global Amsterdam come calling, there’s really only one person they want to ensure the event goes with a bang – and I’m not talking about Iain Lovatt either.
Suffice to say, a good time was had by all at the “Conquering B2B Marketing in a Digital World” apparently, although I must admit after sampling the delights of the Heineken brewery for most of the day, I can’t really remember that much.
However, one lucky delegate certainly got “the Heineken Experience”, and I even let him take me up the Ostadestraat too…
On the whole everyone was impeccably behaved, considering the venue – not like one financial services conference I attended back in the day in Prague.
The organisers had not quite done their homework when the drafted in a very well known direct mail practitioner, who has a penchant for the ladies, to give the opening presentation on the final day.
To be fair, the writing was on the wall the night before when, after the official dinner, they revealed we had two choices for taking the party on. On the right, there was a “normal” nightclub, on the left there was a nightclub with a “menu”, if you get my drift.
Next morning, we all gathered to hear his pearls of wisdom… we waited and waited and still he didn’t show. They checked his room. No response. They checked the bar. No sign. They even checked the toilets. Then the cry went out: “Has anyone seen Mr B?”
It was soon greeted by a delegate at the back, who shouted: “Last time I saw him he turned left.” In fact, that was the last anyone saw him until we left for the airport the next morning. Dirty boy.
