So, this is what all the fuss has been about, what do you reckon to refreshed DecisionMarketing then? A new look but the same old shit?
Of course, my new pic isn’t quite ready, but hey, all good things come to those who wait and I’m sure you’ll love it by the time our illustrator has put the finishing touches to it.
I must admit, it all looks a little bit too professional for my liking but the only thing I’m really interested in is the relaunch party, which is starting at the Bridge Inn in sunny Shoreham by Sea as soon as I pen this. You’d better hurry though, the free bar won’t last forever.
Anyway, back to me. It’s always comforting to know that you’re hitting the right spot with the sisterhood and last week’s rant against The Drum did just that, apparently. In fact, it actually hit the G-spot for ISBA chief Debbie Morrison, who was almost gushing in her praise. Nice one Debs…
Mind you, I did notice that for a magazine which claims WACL is divisive, because it doesn’t let men in, The Drum doesn’t seem to mind running its own “Woman of the Year Awards”. Funny how its high and mighty position doesn’t seem to matter when it comes to making a few bob from an awards ceremony, innit hey Stevie?
Another interesting development was that the now-svelte managing director of Royal Mail MarketReach, Jonathan Harman, has waded into the diversity debate, too.
And I quote: “Although I thought [Stephen Lepitak’s] analysis was harsh, others I have spoken to strongly agreed with him.”
I’d wager a bet that one of those people who backed him wouldn’t be Harman’s boss though, who just so happens to be one of the most powerful women in the country, Moya Greene. I wouldn’t pick a fight with her, that’s for sure, she’s awesome. Nice one Johnnie boy.
Talking of powerful women. Here’s one for you to ponder…what was Vonnie Alexander, the former boss of Kitcatt Nohr who is now taking a sabbatical or two, doing out in central London with former Publicis Chemistry chief Mike Welsh the other night?
Is there are start-up in the offing or were they simply exchanging gardening tips? We need to know…
