Foxy comes upon the bald truth about her bonny boss

As summer draws to a close and the back to school and back to work calls grow louder by the day, even the old soak (that’s the esteemed editor of this august online empire to you lot) is threatening to put in an appearance.

Now, normally that would send shivers down my spine, but as I haven’t seen him now for nearly two months, I must admit I’m actually beginning to miss him (yes, my pay review will be due in a month or so, so I am getting in early).

Anyway, there I was wondering what was going on in my head when up popped the results of a poll of 1,000 men, which suggests that us girls simply can’t resist a slaphead.

The survey, which included 500 baldies and 500 hairies, found that the less hirsute reported receiving more “admiring glances”, compared to just a third of men with hair. More than half of the bald men polled credited celebrities like Vin Deisel, Jason Statham and good old Bruce Willis with making a shaved head cool.

One marketer, who chose to shave his head after a friend’s encouragement, said: “Women seem to find my head irresistible and are always asking to touch it.”

Our old friend Jessica Leoni from Illicit Encounters explained that confidence is key. “Bald men who embrace their look often radiate a self-assurance women find irresistible.”

Even so, for all you fellas out there who are desperate to keep your flowing locks, apparently research suggests that eating eggs could make all the difference if you want to retain the Michael Ball look.

The study, which analysed the dietary habits of over 3,000 people, found that those who ate eggs three times a week had stronger, less brittle hair and experienced fewer hair-shedding episodes over two months; other foods that were found to be allies in the fight to keep hair include spinach, salmon, nuts and seeds, and sweet potatoes.

Dr Patel, who led the research, explained: “Eating these foods can definitely help nourish your hair from the inside out, but consistency is key.”

All of which makes me wonder what on Earth has come over me, although, to be fair, that is not a completely unknown phenomenon…

Have a great weekend!
