Foxy goes green round the gills to lose lockdown lard

foxy 414Is it just me or has it been a long old week? What with National Butchers’ Week, National Feet Week, UK SPAM Appreciation Week, and International Women’s Day all colliding with the Royal Family Bust-up Week, it’s certainly been been wearing.

But I think I have even that lot topped as I’ve finally bitten the bullet (well, that’s just about all I’ve had in my mouth) and embarked on the Sirtfood Diet. After all, if it’s good enough for Adele, Jodie Kidd and Lorraine Pascale, surely it’s good enough for Foxy.

So, gone are the takeaways from Abdul’s Indian Cottage Tandoori, the mega-orders from our local Humble Pie Company, and even Shoreham Fried Chicken (yep, there is such a place but it has no website!) is now feeling the squeeze.

Lockdown is coming to an end so I can no longer get away with chatting to people via the “neck-up” web camera angle on Zoom; I need to ditch the pounds – and fast.

Now, for those of you in the dark (where have you been?), “sirtfoods” are actually foods that are high in sirtuin activators, of course, and a type of protein which protects the cells in our bodies from dying or becoming inflamed through illness, although apparently research has shown they can also help regulate your metabolism, increase muscle and burn fat – c’mon sisters, what’s not to like?

Add in the fact that red wine and dark chocolate both happen to be high in sirtuin activators and perhaps now you can see its appeal, or so I thought until I realised that upping your intake of healthy sirtfoods, means you actually have to drink three “sirtfood green juices” a day.

Basically, you have to liquidise kale, rocket, parsley and lovage, green celery, lemon and matcha green tea and get it down the hatch – THREE TIMES A DAY.

I am sure you’ll believe me when I say I have gagged on many things in my life but never have I swallowed such a disgusting concoction.

Mind you, I’m only a week in and I have already lost 7lbs. At this rate, I’ll be beach body ready just in time for the Easter CHOCOLATE fest.

Now, where did I put the Merlot and Green & Blacks…

You can now follow Foxy on Twitter and Instagram  (although don’t expect too much)
