“Love is in the air, everywhere I look around. Love is in the air, every sight and every sound. And I don’t know if I’m being foolish, Don’t know if I’m being wise, But it’s something that I must believe in, And it’s there when I look in your eyes.”
Yep, Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and I find myself in need of some excitement. Now don’t get me wrong, Desperate Dan – the Southern softie who’s hard in all the right places – is a nice enough fella, but I’m getting a bit bored of him. It’s not him, it’s me.
You’d think help would be at hand with the scores of dating apps out there to suit everyone’s whims and fancies, although I am not too sure I’ll have much joy from DiaperMates, FatBastardDating, Meet-an-inmate and DateMyPet.
Of course, there’s always Chocolate Lovers Passions, part of the Passions Network, which has over 260 niche dating, social networking and chat sites. So, even when you have had your fill of chocolate (if that is possible), you can then try your luck on Trucker Passions, Teachers Passions, Medical Passions, Legal Passions, Military Passions or even Beer Passions and Wine Passions.
If all else fails this Valentine’s Weekend, there is even a special event being run by DateinaDash, which is hosting what it claims is the world’s largest virtual speed dating event for singles across the UK.
Apparently for just £20 you can meet up with more than 100 people in four hours from the comfort of your sofa, and as the blurb states “there is bound to be someone RIGHT for you!”. However, in a rather worrying sign of sisterhood desperation, all the tickets for women have already sold out.
Not that I’m that bothered; luckily my roving eye has already found its target, landing firmly on 31-year-old self-made female billionaire and Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd, who has just seen her dating site valued at more than $13bn (£9.4bn).
She’s loaded, clever, successful, and a hottie, too, and firmly believes that women should make the first move. Brace yourself sister, I’m ready to unleash my big guns.
And, you must admit, Foxy Wolfe Herd does have a certain ring to do it…
