Going down hard after Busty exposé

busty againI have to admit, it’s not been pretty here this week. Of course, I have my own suspicions about who was behind the rather nasty attack on this lovely website. Unlike some, I don’t believe old McKelvey pulled the plug out on Wednesday morning simply because he wanted a day off. (He gets most days off anyway.)
Maybe it’s just a coicidence that the site went down harder than an Xhamster star just hours after I blew the gaffe on a certain adman’s disgust at the being the public face of shit that folds. Maybe not.
I’m afraid our forensic team – ie that schoolboy in Budapest who handles all our tech operations – has failed to come up with the answers. Mind you, I hear he has been studying hard for his 11-plus this week.
Not that my esteemed editor even knows the site has been down. He’s been so busy preparing for his radio interview (Monday, Radio 4, You and Yours, 12:15pm onwards if you want a laugh) that he hasn’t been seen for days, leaving me to clear up the mess for a change.
For some reason, he’s got into his head that he’ll soon be enjoying a sandwich with Naga Machete and Sophie Rayworth on the BBC Breakfast sofa (in his dreams), even though I keep telling him he’s only got a face for radio.
Let’s just hope old baldy doesn’t follow Campaign’s one-time ‘brand editor’ Danny Rogers, who, not content with writing a news story about how he’d actually made it on to Radio 4, then proceeded to write a whole opinion piece on it. Bless.
Personally, I hope McKelvey does a fine job and then gets snapped up by the Beeb. Then, I might be able to get a decent boss for once, rather than one who spends his whole time “only being friendly” and claiming he dragged me out of the gutter. Fat chance…
