“So this is Christmas, What have you done, Another year over (nearly), a new one just begun (not quite), And so this is Christmas, I hope you have fun, The near and the dear one, The old and the young…”
Yep, with just eight sleeps until the Big Day, I’m signing off early this year as I have to catch the Mega Bus all the way up North to see my fat friends and family before they shut the country down. I am sure you will believe me when I say that the Idol family really are a Northern Powerhouse.
Not that I won’t still be working on the main site, you understand, as we haven’t quite resorted to filling it with bollocks like the “Top 10 pets of adland” or “2021’s agency Christmas cards”.
Neither have we asked a load of agency wankers who have shelled out £18,000 a year to get themselves in front of another load of agency wankers, er, sorry “a medley of brilliant minds”, what they think have been the “Lessons from 2021”. Of course, I haven’t read that nonsense but I would hazard a guess that the main lesson would be to think twice before you shell out so much money for so little.
But, of course, my final musings of 2021 would not be complete without the traditional sing-a-long. So, with apologies to Mariah, strike up the band…
I don’t want a lot for Christmas
But a pasty barm I still need
I really do love a chippy tea
Underneath the Christmas tree
I just want CHOCOLATE for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is food
I don’t want a lot for Christmas
But all the trimmings I still need
Nanna’s roast I would love
Underneath the Christmas tree
I promise to stuff my face
Right in front of the fireplace
Panetone will make me happy
And bring a smile on Christmas Day
I just want CHOCOLATE for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is food
I need a little extra this Christmas
Just something to feast my eyes upon
You know chips with gravy is my fave
But please don’t make me wait too long
‘Cause nothing else will do tonight
With my mouth open wide
What more can I do?
Readers, all I want for Christmas is food
All I want for Christmas is food, baby
All I want for Christmas is food, baby
All I want for Christmas is food, baby
All I want for Christmas is food, baby
Have a good one. See you next year xx
