Want to be rich, attractive and successful? Dream on…

Ever feel like life is getting you down; no-one is listening; your boss is on another planet; and your job is just meaningless? Welcome to my world.

Luckily, it seems, help is at hand from no lesser hallowed institution than the University of Cambridge, which has recently set out a daily timetable that, the boffins claim, can help anyone maximise their life and make them rich, attractive and successful, primarily by combining consistency, health, and intentionality.

They reckon that the most effective approach for the “average” person is not a rigid schedule, but one that combines fixed routines (morning/night) with flexible productivity blocks during the day.

Believe me, it’s a not a pretty read, but, hey, don’t shoot the messenger. Here goes:

06:30am Wake Up & Prime: Avoid checking your phone immediately. Hydrate, open curtains, and do light movement (stretching or a quick walk).

07:00am “Eat the Frog” (High Energy Task): Dedicate 30–60 minutes to your most important personal goal or difficult work task before the day steals your attention.

08:00am Routine & Setup: Shower, breakfast, and review your top 3 goals for the day.

09:00am Deep Work Blocks (Priorities First): Focus on the 1-3 most critical tasks (1-3-5 Rule). Use 90-minute, distraction-free “sprints” for maximum productivity.

12:30am Active Break & Lunch: Step away from your desk. Walk, eat properly, and get natural light.

02:00pm Collaboration & Routine Tasks: Schedule meetings or reply to emails now, as alertness dips, making this time better for lower-effort tasks.

04:00pm Final Push/Creative Shift: Use late afternoon for creative brainstorming or finishing remaining tasks.

05:30pm Shutdown & Transition: Close out work. List your 1-3 tasks for tomorrow to release work stress.

06:00pm Life/Active/Joy: Exercise, socialise, pursue a hobby, or spend time with loved ones.

09:30pm Digital Sunset/Wind Down: Lower lights, avoid screen time, read, or meditate to ensure 7-9 hours of sleep.

So, there you have it, the secret to a successful life, no pain, no gain and all that. No time for fun, no time for boozing, no time for sex. Mind you, it does explain why I haven’t quite reached the top of my game – STILL.

Foxy has ditched but is still on Instagram,  just don’t get too excited as she’s never there
