Who needs Cannes when you can posh it up in Sussex?

foxy 414“Hey little sister, what have you done, Hey little sister, who’s the only one, Hey little sister, who’s your superman, Hey little sister, who’s the one you want, Hey little sister, shotgun, It’s a nice day to start again It’s a nice day for a white wedding.”

Yep, my musings are coming early today; not because I am lapping up the sun on the Côte d’Azur with scores of admen eating out of my hand but because we are all off to a Decision Marketing Wedding; my bosses are suited and booted and us girls are dressed to the nines for the big day.

But who, I hear you ask, is the lucky bride? Little ol’ me? Nope, Desperate Dan, the southern softie who’s hard in all the right places, has still not popped the question.

Roxy? Sadly not, the gorgeous, witty, brainy and übersexy proprietor of Spoon Creative Ltd, Mr Jonathan Spooner Esq, has already been there and done that and apparently is in no mood to rush in again.

What about Peggy or Meggy from Skeggy, then? Forget it. They love their men like they love their meals, XXXL, and there aren’t many of those to the pound round here.

There’s no chance of a groom either. As most people recognise, our web ops specialist is still at school so little joy there.

No, dear readers, it is actually the daughter of one of my esteemed editor’s oldest friends (yep, we were as surprised as you that he actually has any friends left, too.)

You see, that, he claims, is where he was last week; not missing in action at all but securing the whole team an invite to the nuptials.

So, all is forgiven, even though my Cannes threesome will have to wait for another year. After all, who needs to be quaffing the finest rosé in the South of France, when you can be at a wedding in the heart of upmarket Sussex?

It also means we might just make it home in one piece to enjoy the weekend, which, as everyone knows, is far from guaranteed after seven days and nights on the Boulevard de la Croisette…
