Aldridge fires up Engine to Roller win

steve rollsEngine Group has strengthened its relationship with Rolls-Royce by scooping the brand’s global account, with Partners Andrews Aldridge spearheading the business.
The appointment is a personal coup for creative chief Steve Aldridge (pictured), a man known for his love of cars, who led the pitch which kicked off in May. He saw off M&C Saatchi with Lida, The Corner and Leo Burnett’s luxury arm, Atelier.
Partners will lead the account, to be run out of Engine’s London office, with support from offices in New York, Shanghai and the Middle East.
Engine Strategy and data division Fuel will also work on the business, which will include digital activity, CRM, advertising, content creation, and direct marketing. The group will also be responsible for overseeing Rolls-Royce’s global brand communications strategy going forward.
Engine first worked on Rolls-Royce in 2008, when it was chosen to handle the marketing communications for the launch of the Ghost model. The company also handles the account for Rolls-Royce parent BMW.
Most recently Partners launched a campaign to promote the new Wraith, the most powerful Rolls-Royce ever built.
Using the strapline: “And the World Stood Still”, the Wraith campaign included an interactive film, a microsite featuring film content and interviews, direct mail, email and brochures.
Engine executive creative director and Partners Andrews Aldridge chairman Steve Aldridge said: “Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is one of the most iconic brands there is. We’ve been very proud of the work we’ve created with them so far and are delighted to have expanded our relationship so that we can continue to work on creating category defining campaigns.”
This is the second time Partners  has defended the account, beating off competition from Publicis Chemistry in 2011.
