Campaign editor Claire Beale has been shifted to sister title Marketing as part of a Haymarket reshuffle which sees the role of editor on its three media titles expanded to “brand editor”, to reflect all channels of publication.
Beale has been replaced by Danny Rogers, the editor of PRWeek, who will be brand editor for both Campaign and Media Week, while also continuing as group editor-in-chief.
The move is likely to raise a few eyebrows in agency-land; Beale has been editor of the advertising trade rag for nearly a decade. One insider said: “The industry will go mad when they find out.”
Campaign and Media Week will be produced by a single editorial team. Former group news editor Arif Durrani becomes head of media; senior reporter Maisie McCabe will be news editor.
Beale said: “I’ve been given a great opportunity to drive Marketing’s development as a dynamic and creative multi-media brand for brand leaders, their CEOs and anyone who is responsible for building brands to build businesses.”
Outgoing Marketing editor Noelle McElhatton, who has been at Haymarket Media Group for 12 years, commented: ‘It’s been an immense privilege to lead Marketing and its talented, creative and hardworking team as we pulled off a redesign of the brand, achieved record levels of traffic to our website and continued to build on one of the highest Twitter followings in B2B publishing.”
