Global media giant Carat has recruited former Havas Digital joint chief executive Anthony Rhind to the new role of chief digital officer, tasked with developing a global community of digital specialists.
Rhind left Havas last year and has been working as a consultant ever since for the wider Dentsu Aegis Network – which owns Carat. In his new role he will also support key global clients, spearheading business transformation through the use of technology and digital integration.
He will also help to bring together the specialist digital capabilities across the Dentsu Aegis group, including Carat, iProspect and AMNET, for global clients to help them build unified vision for their digital media.
Rhind started his career at Video Arts in 1992, then switched to Mediastar as a planner buyer in 1994, staying six years. He then joined OMD, before spending six and a half years at Media Contacts, latterly as chief strategy officer. Rhind then took up the same role at Havas Digital, before being promoted to joint chief exec.
Carat global president Doug Ray said: “Our ability to redefine media for our clients requires a clear command of the possibilities that convergence creates and expert understanding of the latest advances in technology. With his impeccable track record of delivering in digital at the highest level, Anthony will give us even greater capability in this area.”
Rhind added: “Having worked with the business as a consultant in recent months, I have always been impressed by its incredibly talented people, amazing client base and deep commitment to integrating digital in everything they do.”
