DDB lures back Red Brick Rd duo

Integrated agency DDB UK has poached back award winning creative duo Matt Lee and Pete Heyes from The Red Brick Road to rejoin the agency as creative directors.
In 2007, Lee (pictured left) and Heyes (pictured right) left DDB UK to join The Red Brick Road. In January of this year the agency merged with its digital sister agency Ruby, having lost its creative director Justin Tindall, DDB UK’s former head of art, who left to join Leo Burnett in November 2010.
The duo began their advertising careers at DFGW in 1998, moving to DDB UK in 2000. During their time at the agency, they worked on several high profile campaigns for The Guardian, the Financial Times and Volkswagen, including the “Incredible but True” campaign. DDB UK executive creative director Jeremy Craigen (pictured in the middle), credits the team with having brought in the FT account with the “We live in Financial Times” campaign.
While at the Red Brick Road, the pair were responsible for award winning work on Thinkbox and Magners. The latter, won at Campaign Big, Cannes and received the Platinum award at Creative Circle.
Craigen said: “Back in 2007 when they said they were leaving I thought to myself ’I’ll get them back’. They’ve matured a lot and produced the best work to come out of Red Brick Road.”
Heyes added: “We’ve enjoyed our time at The Red Brick Road, but this is an opportunity that we couldn’t turn down.”
