eCircle opens Scandinavian wing

Email service provider eCircle is expanding its operations in Europe with the launch of a Scandinavian office, and hiring key staff from its former rival, the now defunct Zoomie.
The move sees eCircle significantly expand its position in the Dutch market and enter the Nordic markets, extending the office in Utrecht as well as establishing a Nordic head office in Copenhagen.
As part of the launch, former Zoomio founder and email marketing veteran Per John Jensen, together with other key members of the Zoomio teams from Denmark and the Netherlands, have been appointed by eCircle. Zoomio went into administration in both countries in August 2011.
The expansion will add to existing sites in Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Poland and the UK, strengthening eCircle’s presence in Europe.
The new team will be responsible for providing support to customers on location, and build on existing business, using eCircle’s email marketing solution eC-messenger.
eCircle chief executive Volker Wiewer said: “With this expansion, we are firmly cementing our market leadership in Europe and are even better placed to deal with the demands of our international clients. I have no doubt Per John Jensen will contribute to eCircle’s continued success in the EMEA region.”
