DMA PR chief takes director role

The DMA has promoted PR manager Rachel Aldighieri to the new role of director of communications and insight, to develop its marketing communications, events, research and work with the body’s 15 industry sector councils.
Aldighieri’s appointment spearheads the DMA’s strategic plan to enhance its communications with its corporate members and engage with a broader field of the DM industry’s sectors. The new department will focus on expanding the DMA’s range of content across its online platforms and industry events.
Since joining the DMA in 2006, Aldighieri has been responsible for running the organisation’s press and publicity department and advising on policy.
In the past couple of years her remit has expanded to include managing all marcomms. Earlier this year, Aldighieri oversaw the six-month project to rebrand the DMA and launch a new website. Prior to joining the DMA, Aldighieri worked as an account director for PR agency Ash Communications.
Chris Combemale, executive director of the DMA, said: “Rachel demonstrated outstanding leadership and vision in her role, leading critical projects, such as the DMA rebranding and website projects. I’m confident Rachel will provide inspirational leadership in her new challenge to continually develop the service we offer to our
members and the wider direct marketing community.”
