Golley Slater hails global deal

Golley Slater is claiming it can now offer clients a full range of options “anywhere in the world”, following the expansion of the independent global agency network which it represents in the UK.
The agency has been part of the Icom network for three and a half years. Founded in 1950 as the National Federation of Advertising Agencies, Icom has 70-plus member agencies in more than 50 countries. The network has billings of $2.5bn (£1.6bn) and gross income exceeding $390m (£250m).
Now it is merging with the IN network, which has 65 agencies in 108 cities. IN was formed in 1992 by five agencies in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and UK. It expanded globally in 1998.
With more than 100 agencies, the new group Icom+IN claims it is the largest independent agency network, offering the broadest geographic coverage. The billings of the new network are expected to be $3.5bn with gross income exceeding $500m.
Golley Slater London chief executive Ian Winton said: “For Golley Slater, the combination means we can offer clients a full range of options anywhere in the world.
“Since we’ve been members, the relationships we have made both with agencies in other markets and with clients we have shared have been invaluable. The service provision between markets works well for clients and allows us to perform consistently and to share learning between the teams.
“For Golley Slater, one of the largest independent agency networks in the UK, the Icom relationship allows us to seamlessly contribute and operate internationally. The Icom+IN network will further strengthen the international offer.”
