House-sitting site hires first CMO

House-sitting site hires first CMOAn online service which gives homeowners the chance to ship in trusted house-sitters to look after their homes and pets when they are away has appointed its first chief marketing officer to further accelerate its rapid growth.
Brighton-based TrustedHousesitters.com has recruited former STA Travel and VisitBritain marketing director Laurence Bresh to steer the company’s digital and offline marketing strategy.
Bresh started his career as a journalist at London Weekend Television in 1986 before joining Safeway as head of comms in 1990. He then had spells at the English Tourist Board and VisitEngland before taking up the role of marketing director at VisitBritain.
While there, he oversaw the global marketing of Britain as a tourism destination during the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Through TrustedHousesitters.com, established in 2010 by Andy Peck and Rachel Martin, homeowners with pets can find someone trustworthy, willing to house-sit for free, who can care for their home and pets while they are away. The site has members all over the world.
Laurence said: “The concept is so brilliantly simple, I look forward to working with the founders to build a world-class marketing team delivering world-class marketing campaigns and partnerships.”
Peck added: “We’re thrilled to have Laurence join the management team. It is clear that his extensive wealth of experience and outstanding track record will be of huge benefit in helping us continue to rapidly grow worldwide and we’re really excited about seizing the big opportunities ahead.”
