Land Rover UK is reportedly hunting for a specialist digital agency to handle its social media and online marketing, less than six months after appointing Lida to its CRM account.
According to reports, it has contacted a number of agencies about the brief and some have already held chemistry meetings with Land Rover bosses. ISBA is helping with the process.
OgilvyOne handles the bulk of the car marque’s digital business, having won the account in 2012. It is not known how the current pitch will affect this relationship.
Lida saw off both OgilvyOne and Publicis Chemistry last summer to become the Land Rover’s first dedicated CRM agency. The company also has brand experience agency Imagination and Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R on board.
Under Tata Motors’ ownership, Jaguar Land Rover has witnessed a major turnaround in fortunes. At the end of May last year, it reported an 11% increase in profits – with pre-tax profits reaching £1.7bn – for 2012/13.
While this has been partly driven by rapid growth in China and the Asia Pacific markets, sales in Europe were also up, 18% to 80,994.
