Lida is continuing to rebuild its senior team under new chief executive Jonathan Goodman with the appointment of chief strategy officer Janie Rees and the promotion of strategy partner James Calvert to chief data officer.
Rees joins from Cheil Worldwide, where she led planning for the Samsung Home account. Prior to that, she worked in planning roles at Publicis and Sky.
In her new position, Rees will lead Lida’s strategy to support the agency’s new “people-first” proposition and will report directly to Goodman.
Calvert joined Lida in 2016 and has been instrumental in winning a series of pitches for accounts including Costa Coffee, Axa and Experian. In his new role, Calvert will develop Lida’s data credentials to ensure they bring maximum benefit to its creative, media and technology offer.
The duo will work closely with chief operating officer Claire Cootes and chief creative officer Ben Golik.
Goodman, who was appointed in November last year following the departure of Victoria Fox, said: “As we double down on creativity, it’s essential that we don’t lose sight of the importance of the role that data, tech and innovation play in delivering great work for clients.
“These two appointments, which represent the best of art and science, allow us to ensure that we are leading the industry on all of these fronts and that we are well-placed to deliver against our new proposition, ‘Make work people welcome’.”
